Need to understand something about Cellc data charges

Hi Everyone,

I took out the 5gig R299 12 month contract from Cellc last year. Recently was wondering when it actually ends as quite a number of other data packages to consider.

Anyways long story short I THINK Cellc has been over-billing me for a couple of months and they extended my contract without even notifying me!

Phoned customer service and they could not stop telling me how wrong I am so:


SmartData 5 GB
Unused MB from Last Month 0.00
New MB Added this Month 5120.00
Usage on this Bill 5021.92
MB Carried Forward to Next Month 0.00

For this they billed me R412 - Is this correct?
 
I don't have a data contract with Cell C, so I don't know for sure, but you say that they extended your contract which means that your old price has ended and you are now in a new contract with new prices.

I see the new 5GB contract price is R770 for 24 months and it's also available for 12 months.

So if they billed you R412, that's better than R770. I don't think the 5GB for R299 exists anymore.
 
The point isn't that he's paying less for the new one.

The point is that they automatically moved him to "somewhere in-between" and upped his originally agreed price (R299 -> R412), without notifying him.
 
I had to go to a Cell C store and fill in a form to cancel my contract that's "ending" this month. According to them, it would have continued at the new pricing.

Hi Chris_SA

With all contracts once they reach their end of life they go to a month to month package, to cancel you have to call and give a month notice.

Why are you been over charged ? please PM me , will look into it for you.
