I have never been the "proud" owner of an internet router. So I was wondering how bandwith monitoring would work on the neoflex device. If this is not possible how would we know if the data over billing issue from the prime device is not present as well?

Bandwidth monitoring works pretty much the same for any device, except with the router you significanlty more users which = more data uploaded and downloaded = faster usage of your cap and possibly more out of bundle usage.

I don't think that that answers my question. If I have for example my xbox and my pc connected to the device I can monitor data usage on my pc but not on my xbox. How would I in this instance monitor my usage on the device.

In a normal situation, you would trust your provider doing this for you to a reasonable degree of accuracy as Vodacom *sigh* Telkom do. Neotel seems to be getting this completely wrong at the moment and a number of users have to monitor their own traffic.

If you read some of the threads in this forum, you will see what I mean.

Coming back to your original question, some routes do log the in/out traffic. If the Neoflex device doesnt do this, there are a couple of applications that will do this for you. e.g. Netlimiter. If you have multiple machines connecting out to the internet, I would suggest setting up a proxy and letting your client machines connect through that. That way you only have to monitor one machine.

This depends on the NeoFlex router and its capabilities. I'm not a xBox expert, but cant a xBox use a proxy? If it can, just proxy the traffic through your pc.

Put a little Linux router/box with mrtg on it between the neoflex and your network. Can't go wrong with that, you'll catch all devices sending receiving something.
