NeoFlex connection problem

Hey, i just got the neoflex 10gb package today but when trying to set it up i ran into a few problems. Hopefully someone here can help.
Basically it is not connecting to the EVDO network, though the EVDO light is green on the modem. I set up the modem following the directions provided and tried using both my [email protected] and @neotel.co.za to log in.
Basically What happens is that the Connect light goes green for a couple of seconds and then goes off. Neotel customer service says that the account is activated so it can't be that.
Please, if anyone has any idea of how to resolve this i would be much obliged if you would tell me and save me from having to be on the phone with their customer service all day tomorrow...

Let me try to resolve one @ at time - but you are welcome to PM me.

I am amazed that many of you are encountering issues - this is the most easy thing to setup.
 
My connection problem is finally fixed.:) The end result was that Neotel's "technical" department did not correctly provision the device that they sent to me.:eek: So if you are still experiencing problems then I suggest you insist that they provision it. The process took them only about 2 minutes, after I insisted that they resolve the problem, or send someone to collect the device / cancel contract.

Neotel needs to focus on improving experience for their new customers.
 
Ok just an update on what's going on with this problem. Thanks to droid's suggestion i was able to get the connection working. They had not provisioned my account properly either. :/
Anyway, now there's a new problem and that is that the modem only connects when there is no EVDO connection available. As soon as the EVDO light on the modem comes on the connection stops. And while it is connected without EVDO the browsing speeds are ridiculously slow - speedtest.net had it at 34kbps! I've contacted neotel again and they said the'll send someone over to check it out. I'll keep y'all updated on the progress...

Did you sort out your problem ? I have the same situation, when EVDO light is on, it does'nt connect, and as soon as it connects, the EVDO light goes out, and download speed are k@k. 34kb/s down and 5kb/s up.

This is much worse than dailup.

Neotel is still new, NeoFlex is it's newest..there will be problems.

They're taking my money, so I expect an ecceptable level of service. At this stage I'm getting f@ckoll. Nothing better than Telkom 10 years ago with dailup.

Maybe I should ask for R7 weekend. Might download more this way.....!

Oh no wait, I have only got a 10GB cap......!!!!!!!
 
Looks like the problem was sorted, I've been out of town for a couplke of days, and when I retured today everything seems to work ok.
I'm connecting at EVDO speeds. No disconnections.
