I have now been waiting 3 weeks. New excuses each day. The current one is "no stock".
When I first applied they had stock, but then Neotel rejected my order due to a bad ITC record. It took me 4 days to get someone to confirm that my record is clean. Suddenly the same morning Neotel 'approved' my 2 applications. When I got to the dealer they (Neotel) screwed up the order and had me OK-ed for NeoFlex Voice (wanted lite telephone and Flex Data). So they had to fix it. Monday I went back, but now suddenly the old rejected ITC check came back. Suddenly I was a risky client and the order was rejected again. I now had to buy my credit report and send it to Neotel. They gave me my 2 stacks of documents and told me to bugger off.
Well, I went straight to a PosNet branch. They got the Lite99 approved in minutes and I was up and running before the end of that same day. Seems the left hand does not even know the existance of the right hand.
But by the time all these mishaps got resolved the stock dried up. My FlexData15G application is still pending (due to stock). Maybe the ITC record thing will kick in again?
Now, after reading pages upon pages of HelloPeter, this forum and countless other Googled articles (want drivers for XP as the Lite phone only seems to work on Vista) it is becoming apparent that I must cancel my application before it is too late. Neotel basically sucks. The voice service seems OK and so far even on bad signal I can make and receive calls without any problems.
The SMTP thing is getting to people. One of my friends received his Prime phone about 4 weeks ago. He has to use webmail to send emails. This is when and if his connection is stable. Although he has several GBs of cap he still needs to buy airtime for his 3G card to stay connected to his clients. They also delivered 2 Prime phones, even though he only ordered 1. He then only signed for one and sent the the extra one back. Apparently it now seems that he will be billed for 2. Just imagine how long that will take to sort out.
So maybe everybody should just spread the word to wait a bit before they sign a Neotel contract until Neotel publically gives the commitment that it is OK to proceed and that they will deliver good quality service.
