Anybody got an idea what the pricing for this elusive product is?

or perhaps www for samsung distributer?

Noticed the pdf spec has changed from what is was a few weeks ago.

Gone are references like data, internet, the 4 prong antenna router etc.?????

I noticed that too. I don't think this device will be launched this year. :(

Hey, the way they roll out services, we'd be lucky to get it this decade. Imagine... we get the World Cup before we get decent service from the "new guy"... Damn!

Will Webafrica be allowed to distribute?

I don't want another company to pay each month.

Up to now I just had excellent service from WA - over a period of more than 2 years.

I don't really want another finger from SAMSUNG in my LAN.

Kaspaas,

This Neoflex Voice via Samsung now looks like a voice only offering, and looks like a stripped down Neoconnect - sans telephone handset and dial buttons. You connect it to the analogue line of your PABX and configure the PABX to route all Neotel calls via this link, or all calls if it is the only links (greenfields installation) or whoever gives you the best rate at what time of the day to dubai! So they won't poke on your LAN, but i'll bet the Saumsung guy will do his/her best to sell you another PABX "'cuase it works with Neoflex Voice", of course! So they'll get there grubby paws on your voice system!

The real device all has been waiting for is Neoflex Data, ANNOUNCED today by Neotel for launch end of November - SUNDAY?- but alas, no package info, or pricing

and best of all, NO COVERAGE

I called Neotel this morning.

Was informed that the Neoflex pricing/packages would be available next week.

I was told end of October that it would be available first week of November, so I'm not holding my breath!

Neotel: PLEASE learn to announce the details and pricing of new package in the middle of a month so that those who want to switch over to you can make plans in advance!
I'll now spend another month's money with another provider because you are leaving the announcement for the new month :( Is it that difficult??

I wonder if Neotel are holding back updatinng thier coverage information until the NeoFlex Data launch. Suddenly the cool toy is availabe and the coverage hass increased by 50%.

Well I can dream anyway....

So is this what a setup would typically look like?

- I have an office with 4 voice lines. I need a single number that reaches the secretary and can then be transferred to any of the other 3 people in the office
- I also need to hook up a fax machine (something that seems impossible at the moment) on its own separate line. Might look at Fax2Email or something.
- I also need an internet connection with around 5 GB of data, to be shared across the LAN.

What can Neotel provide in this line? As far as I understand:
- Neoflex Voice, with a single CDMA device on the roof or high-up somewhere. Connects to a Samsung PABX, which then connects via LAN to a few IP phones.
- Another device, Neoflex data (whenever that arrives), connects to Neotel as well, provides internet access across LAN / Wifi

When might we both across one connection, or will this be possible once Neoflex data arrives?

Thx!

Well the end of November has come and gone - I hope those prices are out today.

EDIT: Nothing on their site...

LOL @ empty promises ... The rest of the world's big corporations are managed by intelligent, civilized human beings, when they promise they deliver.

This is Africa!!! ... what else do you expect.

Yip, I've checked out FMTech, ITWeb, Business Day (hopeless site - can't view it) and nothing all round!

One would think that they'd actually want to sell their products...

Sad thing is, I have also been constantly going to their site, hoping for an update, alas - nothing has appeared.

Well saying you WILL launch a product before the end of November and then not doing so is rather pathetic for a "new" company. Lets hope for their sake they announce something later today:sick:

I'm trying to chat with Duncan Mcloed via the chat feature on FMTech and probe him if his got the scoop on this :p

No response - so he must either be busy, or I can't see the messages, the filters at the office are so ghey! :o

Hi all,

Now i know what it feels like to answer your own question. Got a bit of time over the weekend and found it in ITWEB. (Posted 24/11/2008). Weird it's not released elsewere.

http://www.itweb.co.za/sections/telecoms/2008/0810241036.asp

Basically, for those with no time to check the link, it's R99 for Neotel line and R74.10 for Samsung (device or supplied device)= R173.10 total.

nope I don't think that is the Neoflex data one, the one you are referring to is the Neoflex voice

"Sharma says the device will hopefully be available to consumers before the end of the year"
