Is there a way to check your signal strength when using the Axess.tel NeoFlex modem? I may miss something, but can not find this info anywhere...

Yes there is. Install the AxessManager application that came with the router.

Then run the application - it may ask you for a RUIM - cancel the request and continue. The application may terminate several times before it finally initialises successfully.

Thanks Neotel

I dont have the original packaging or disks...maybe a download link somewhere?

I installed the AxessManager software and drivers - it detects the device but then I get the error message: "Please insert RUIM" or something like that and then it automatically shuts down.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Any way to check signal strength on the router itself (using Ethernet)?

If you start AxessManager enough times :( it eventually works.

I've logged a techincal support call directly with Axesstel asking if there is a non-RUIM version of the software/ other way of getting at dmb/rssi... if they respond I'll post it here...

Unfortunately this is the truth. You'll have to open it up many, many times. If you're lucky it'll work within 10-15 times, but I've had to do it up to 30 times to get joy in the past... so it's obviously not something I repeat too often.

This combined with the fact that there's no way to check your usage and the absence of a >15GB data package on NeoFlex is pretty much all that irritates me about being a Neotel customer.
