First ever post containing anything remotely to World of Warcraft, but this is actually for a friend! :p

He wants to get one of those Neoconnect Lite Packages to browse the internet and occasionally play WOW. I told him to hold on, so I can find out if it is possible due to the latency ect.

Anyone playing WOW from a Neotel connection? Is it possible?

I am on a NeoConnect Prime Package with good download speeds between 60KB/s and 100KB/s, have never attempted playing WOW online but I have played COD4 (Call of Duty 4) online, and the latency is an issue. My ping is between 300 and yes sometimes 999 and this is on a local server.

Some friends join using 3G cards and they get latency of around 200ms which is still fair for playing online.

If I was ur friend I would rather stick with coper lines to play online games and get neotel for browsing and downloading rather...

Hope this helps....

Any ways wow is not that all good on wireless with packet loss and all, Neotel is a joke IMO until we get some land lines around here because games need stable lines and if you want to duel in wow pvp realms you need ADSl for a advantage cause if you have a 0.5 of no response you could miss a critical spell or what not. I would rather have a 384 Line with 500ms on wow than wireless so until then ADSL for wow :)
Private wireless wan networks are more stable than Neotel :O I think it is due to lack of infrastructure but what they have done so far is pleasing but for web surfing and not really gaming or downloading.
