Yo guys, again, very dissapointed in neotel for closing the ports, whats the point in having NeoConnect Prime UNLIMITED which is SO LIMITED?

I reacon the speed increases we have seen in the last week is due to the fact that they have closed all the ports, therefore no one can download / torrent etc as they use to?

This means the bandwidth on each base station has increased dramatically, which increase the total throughput of the base station.

Neotel do you think we are complete retards?

Today I'm going to cancel my neotel.

The NeoConnect Prime Device is a modem not a router so all ports are closed for your security.

You need to call in and request which port/s you would like opened.

All the ports were opened up untill about a week or so ago, I'm in the IT industry myself, and I need RDP ports etc.

Bleergh

I have called them to re open the ports, this is what they said why the ports are closed.

"The ports have been closed coz we have moved to the new building in Midrand, our system responsible for opening ports isn't online as yet."

:(

I phoned them 3 times on the weekend - they told me the the same thing about opening the ports. Apparently they need to VPN into some system and do it - not sure why they cant VPN from any computer. But in any case, I was being a dumbass and set up my port fowarding incorrectly - so my ports were never closed in the first place.

I called them to check if my ports are still open and they told me that they don't close ports once they are open. However they can't check it for me until their new system is back up and running which shouldn't be until tomorrow at least
