Neotel confirms new launch date

I have seen a whole pile of Neotel guys digging up Sandton and Randburg so at least they are now visibly doing something.... Nothing usefull but something at least :)

Title should be Neotel confirms new launch date once again :-)

I have it on rather good authority the actual launch will be beginning of April not May. Don't know why people keep thinking early new year must mean January.

I agree, but April/May is also not early new year either :-), its like people who say "in a couple of days" and then a week later, you are still waiting

Neotel confirms new launch date?

I've read the story. There is no confirmation. There is no launch. And there is no date.

There is a Neotel, but only vaguely.

"Neotel further said that their pilot programme for the consumer offering is well underway and that they are satisfied with the results"

Then why have MYAdsl not been able to test it?

I smell something! and it's Bull$h!t!

Only "satisfied" with something that is over a year late? Boy does that fill me with optimism... :)

I was going to support them for the sake of competition, but not anymore. It is quite obvious that in their mind only businesses are important as this is where they can make money from voice service. I reckon they will keep on delaying their real residential offerings until their undersea cable is complete. This will give them time to get coverage in a wider area. Currently they will also not be able to undercut Telkom on data prices too much and they rightly believe cheap broadband is what will attract residential customers. So I reckon I will be in UK before they actually provide some sort of decent offering to residential users. Luckily that is only until the end of the year.

Better late then never.... Look's like never these days....

Now lets all say neotel 10 times

neotel, neotel, neotel, neotel ..... ...... .... neetel .... .. .....nevertel, nevertel........

so its actually NEVERTel, we're waiting for........:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Those 2 sentences appear to contradict one another, not sure what you intended there.
Not really. They only have authority over the telecommunications prices. Neotel already has the spectrum it needs and no provider needs the approval for their bandwidth pricing.
If you have confidential info, and you are making it public without prior permission, and even the MD of the company to which the info supposedly relates, contradicts the info that you are making public, then expect to have some questions hurled in your direction.
Fair enough, you can ask, and I can decline to answer. The info is not confidential since they are releasing it, only the source for obvious reasons. I suspect the MD has more important things to do and there are people much more up to date with the network and marketing. 100 days could be counting from January. ;)
Who is|are the 'they' to whom you refer and accuse of expecting a January 2008 launch of NeeTel's CDMA2000?
As I said nobody specific, just the general attitude that seems to be prevailing.

*applauds Prometheus for keeping the faith.... and LOVES a bit of cloak and dagger stuff heheh....:D

You were close Prom, good spotting ;)

Saw this as a calendar entry on the index.
