Neotel coverage in Gordonsbay

Does anyone know if there is coverage for neotel in Gordonsbay?
And if so... the signal strength?

I want to support the wireless market more I think this is the future :-D it needs to get better...

Dude.. are you gone bonkers? Why on Earth would you want to do that? Wireless sucks donkey balls compared to a wired connection. Rather get ADSL - I promise that you won't regret it. And if you do go wireless, why whould you choose Neotel of all companies? They are the worst wireless operator of them all. Even worse than iBurst.

Wireless might be the future, but neither iBurst nor Neotel are the ones who will bring it. The future of wireless is HSPA+ and LTE, and not the 10 year old CDMA/EVDO crap that Neotel brought us, nor the HC-SDMA iBurst standard. and And wired connections will always be better, bigger, faster, less error prone, more reliable, with less contention. You simply can't be the speed of light!

Do yourself a favour and stay far away from Neotel and iBurst. Read here if you don't believe me.

You're right about the technology iBurst uses - it's not even a complete standard, has no roadmap, and virtually no subscribers globally.

I think you need to do some homework about CDMA, though. Currently, there are far more EV-DO subscribers in the world than HSPA subscribers. Overall CDMA has around 500 million users worldwide, and China Telecom has just commenced a rollout that will reach around 300 million subscribers. The roadmap for CDMA to 4G is the same as HSPA - it will migrate seamlessly to LTE, with dual-mode handsets etc. In fact, most analysts agree that CDMA networks are likely to be the first to migrate to LTE, ahead of HSPA operators, who will stay back in 3G for longer.

That may be so, but in RSA Neotel have made a complete mess of it. They've brought in cheap crappy chinese hardware, and dubbed it a "world first" phone + internet in one, which actually sucks donkey balls. If Neotel launced this maybe 5 years ago, it could've been something to shout about. Meanwhile HSDPA, HSUPA, and HSPA+ are flourishing all over Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia. America and the far east still seem keen on CDMA. Maybe the merging roadmaps will save CDMA operators....

But in the end, wireless still sucks, is more expensive and very unreliable. Having operators like iBurst and Neotel does wireless no good either.

Thanks for the input. Used to have a 512 like etc and would prefer it. Telkom is just not comming to our place to install the Telephone line. So thank you guys for the opionions Definately not getting Neotel.

Regarding wireless technology - Yes it suck big time currently. But you know when cell phones came out in South Africa people said it will never take off. So I suppose there is so much room for improvement with those services here that I can be hopefull.
I think for one they can start putting the prices down, geez comapre our prices to the UK. (Its @#$ daylight robbery)
