Hey all for anyone thats interested.

Don't know if this will work for both light and prime but give it a try.

Just shows some info about your phone such as the software version,NID,SID,ESN,RSSI

I found the RSSI pretty usefull for fine tuning so it's not a complete waste :D

I really don't think it will affect the warranty since it only display's info, nothing to modify.To make changes you need to use Service programming which is surprisingly easy considering the SPC code is cake :D

Prime Device : SW VERSION BC2703-R00.0.02.19
SID - Shared Information & Data (model)/System Identifier
IMSI - International Mobile Subscriber Identity
NID - Network Interface Device
RSSI - Received Signal Strength Indicator
PN - PART NUMBER/PRODUCT NAME

Lets just say the technicians need to be more discreet :D

As for the SPC code well making it 111111 doesnt exactly say high security.

Isn't RSSI measured in negative decibels, which would mean lower is better and higher means your more negative.
Not sure so don't take my word for it.

OK figured it out less is better:

3 bars with antenna 84 (ping a local server 178 ms)
2 bars with no antenna 104 ( ping a local server 202 ms)

I was contemplating the exact same thing.
I am using QPST and it works but I couldn't get Bitpim to read the filesystem.
Could it be possible to clone it to completly different non-ruim device?
This is definitely an interesting experiment to try out.

It should be possible to activate some non-RUIM enabled CDMA 800 phones provided that you have compatible tools or suitable engineering codes to reprogram the ESN and phone number. You may not be able to access some of the operator specific handset features such as messaging etc. I would look around on eBay in the US to see what cheap secondhand phones are available and choose something that can be reprogrammed easily (Bitpim compatible etc.). You can purchase RUIM enabled CDMA phones in Namibia which might also be suitable but I'm not sure whether or not the RUIM access module can be deactivated via QPST or CDMAWS. There are some guides available on the Internet on how to add RUIM modules to certain PDAs such as the Sprint PPC6700 so it may also be possible to deactivate the RUIM module on some phones. Let us know if you have any success.
