Any chances of say changing the ... ringtones? ;)

I would also like to directly interface with it and add all my numbers and such!

Doing it via the phone (device) sucks!

Welcome to Neotel ,

Press 1 to start Crying ... 2 to continue Crying... or if you can 3....

3 is the general response... which means... we will call you back in 48 Hours.... starting in 2099..

Thanks

Yeah, still slow as hell!

First payment coming up soon probably :(

I waited 2 weeks, but in that 2 weeks to get connected, I moaned like a biatch everyday!

Unfortunately, the ringtone shipped on the device cannot be changed. The functionality to change ringtones is currently not supported.

We are continuously evaluating new products and new devices that would suit this market. Once a device is certifed for use on our network a product is developed, tested and then launched.

Devices with the features you refer to are being evaluated and if certified, you could see them launched in the near future in a new product.

Would these devices have a jack for say another phone.
I would love to plug in a cordless phone to the Neotel device.
If and when these devices come out, will we be able to ugrade (trade in) our old devices or will it be upon us to try resell it to cover costs?

Trade in gets my vote!

Unfortuantely I cannot provide further information @ this time since devices are still being evaluated.

Once the device is certifed and becomes a candidate for a product, I maybe able to divulge more information. I prefer not to make promises or create expectations that may / may not be met.

Thanks, not expecting promises, just giving my suggestions for when this does come to light.

hi all, i also enquired and i like most of you not to impressed with the devices available. i am opting for one of the NeoConnect Prime options. therefore USB connection from phone is horrid, have had my fair share around of 3G USB devices from MTN and Vodacom. :(

i have raised a few options:
1. have RJ45 connection point and allow IP connection for use directly or through home wifi enabled switch. in that case, why not include wify capablities in the station. ;) (raised by so many on the forums)
2.a) pc is upstairs, no other alternative too where to put the base station of the phone, therefore would like to see a "cordless" handset that can be kept downstairs and charged in the base station (upstairs) when required, or even have additional charging stations for the battery, eg cell phones ;)
2.b) or have multiple phones for the same account
3. hopefully with both 1 and 2a

so neotel can sell the current device with the package, but if you want a device with better capabilities, have that as an additional purchasing option, like we have with cell contracts.

my next Q is around the contract price (and it is the same issue with MTN and Vodacom) and i know it could be achieved with prepaid. but i prefer contract, since then i have a consistent monthly expense.

so here it goes: if you renew/upgrade the package at contract renewal, and you do not take a new device, you still pay the full premium monthly. i fail to see the logic, since there should not be a device charge, which means the profit on such a contract is higher. in fact that is why consumers take new devices each time round. with cell contracts, you can at least get rid of the device, but since the neotel device is "attached" to the account, you will, forbid me, after 5 renewals nearly have a phone for each room in your house, *dope* i forgot, with the current neotel setup, you won't be able to link them up on to one account .

my suggestion: why not have another option, to buy the product outright - cashed or leased as a seperate invoice item, and then have a cheaper contract rate. therefore if you could choose between different devices, earlier in the email, you would be able and still never have to buy another one, until you wish to do so. yet again, same as prepaid, but with a 24 month binding period. i am sure the neotel number crunchers would like this a bit better than the prepaid one :D

hope everyone caught on, i might have a few things in a different light than others, but i think you can catch the drift. :p
