Seems like the Neotel network is down, can't even ping the main site with other connection. Router connects fine to tower and gets IP Address, but connection to internet is down, cannot connect to main site through neoflex connection either.
Anyone know what's up?

DNS

Yeah a DNS problem latch on the IDC, still not up though.

Yup, DNS issues. Connected and got my DHCP settings OK including DNS. Could not resolve names so I changed DNS settings to Vodacom (had them in a resolv.conf file on my PC).

$ sudo cp resolv.conf.vodacom /etc/resolv.conf

No problems after that :D :D :D :D

Absolutely horrible. I am busy developing a GSM product for a client. It involves a Siemens modem sending data to my Hetzner server and has a HTTP interface. Guess how much of that product could be developed today......

This loss in income today is so much that I could have probably paid for several ADSL months. Unfortunately I am having difficulties tracking my pre-paid Telkom number (as I have never used it before), as required to get it converted to ADSL. Again I had to eventually give up and go and get another Vodacom SIM and air-time. But the day was already gone by then.

I called the call center and spoke to Kevin. I asked what is going on. He went all HMMM on me. When I mentioned the DNS problem he said that they are aware if it. I asked him when it will be back up and running. His advice was to wait it out. That was 2pm, already after some time waiting. By 18h30 still nothing. When I tried the system again 21h30 it was working. Then some of my Neotel suffering friends also called me to ask what the hell is going on. Lots of unhappy people. This is a damn sick joke. Now I have to get up at about 3am to play catch-up as the Vodacom airtime ran out. I just hope Neotel can at least keep it up and running between 3am to 8am.

I am tired and #$%^&-vol. This product is NOT SUITABLE for SMEs.

Plug in a phone, dial 101999 and it will give you the number!

@moggie

I first need to borrow a phone somewhere, but thanks, will try it.
