Neotel, iBurst battle over orange

This is unbelievable! It took the reading the whole article to try and remember where IBust is using orange. They claim exclusivity and say that the public associate the orange colour with them, yet I immediatly think of the French Mobile company "Orange" when I associate a colour with a company.
 
LOL! just LOL!

Talk about grabbing at straws. The writing is on the wall for iBurst. Soon they will just be another bit-player in the market, but then that was always going to be the case when AK-C came on board. Vodacom was never going to allow them to grow their market share much more than what it is.
 
They may be grabbing at straws, after all Vodacom and Telkom are both blue, but having said that everytime I see a Neotel poster it DOES remind me of Iburst so they aren't totally out of the park...

Now that will be interesting.

Fanta is a soft drink, and doesn't interfere with [-]Neotel[/-]iBurst's service offerings, yet they use the color orange.

Kind of a deja-vu when Microsoft tried to trademark windows and Windows...
 
Silly stuff! Comparing Apples with Oranges me thinks...
 
You can't trade mark a colour! You can't own a colour! iBurst are trying to destroy potential competition. NeoConnect and NeoFlex are both direct competition with the iBurst product range. Wireless Internet Fast? The branding shares no resemblance except for colour... now my company uses three colours in the branding, Red, Green and Blue... looks like I can be taken to book by Telkom, Vodacom, Vodaphone, Virgin, CellC and who ever uses green... looks like I will have to rethink my branding. I wonder if any one is using the colour octorine, you know, the colour of magic?

Seriously iBurst, you are fast losing myrespect!
 
Did they really think they could use such bully tactics on Neotel? Talk about last kicks of a dying horse.

What do you expect from the same people who accused the WISP industry of providing illegal wireless? They don't like competition - plain and simple. A bit like big daddy.

Everywhere, including, at their newly moved-into offices in Sandton, where the urinal cakes are the same hue of orange as the doors, etc...

..while not entirely true, bear in mind that expensive [-]rabidattackrats[/-] legal firms on retainer also have to be SEEN to be justifying said retainer. So while this "action" could actually have merit, it's as likely that it's also just a "brewhaha" (heh) in a teacup... :cool:
 
I wish we could just have proper free-for-all advertising in SA. Imagine how quick Telkom would be shot down by Neotel for example.
