Neotel is digging up my driveway!!!

Trenches all over Krugersdorp-North, piles of rubble and contractors laying cables. According to the Krugerdorp News, one upset guy inquired and was told that is was

Telkom's sub-contractor, Neotel

that was doing the dirty work

3. Who the hell "landscapes" the area between his house and the road? At a considerable expense no less.

Just to report back on Neotel and its contractors...

Yesterday the contractors returned and did a very good job of repairing the mess. The driveway is nearly as good as it used to be. Neotel head-office returned my call and left a message to address my complaint on Friday, which was un-expected, but welcome. I don't think Telkom would ever have responded in like manner.

A good end to a bad start.

When Neotel gets it's broadband services sorted out in my area I will certainly be looking into them as a viable alternative to Telkom.

You'd think they would have something to lay over the trench so you can still drive out. I'm pretty sure they're allowed to do this legaly, but there's probably some timeframe they have to stick to for example I don't see them being able to keep your driveway like that for a month or two.

Phone Neotel and complain, maybe suggest the workers keep sturdy planks or something that could be used to let a car cross.
