I've been trying to find this all over the net, but nothing has turned up. I want to compare the two and see if it's better to switch over to Neotel.

At present I have a Cybersmart 3GB 384Kbs account. This morning I stumbled across Neotel's Lite Unlimited (R469.00 p/m) and the Unlimited Internet Data is quite enticing.

My question: Is it worth dropping ADSL in favour of this package? I'm currently using the 384 for downloads, World of WarCraft and Xbox Live.

Of what I've read on the forum, stay away from neotel
(I've asked for a test at my premises or if they can point me to someone that can help me with a test, but nothing since I phoned them - 2/3 months ago)

I like to think of Neotel Lite as a jar of molasses with arthritis.

NeoConnect Lite is intended to provide basic internet access to users who did not have access to the internet before or who anticipate very little usage.
In addition, the product is targeted at users who are on a tight budget.

It was never intended for online gaming or bandwidth intensive applications.

Well all thanks for the feedback. Kinda sucks cos full uncapped ADSL is still out of my reach :(

I think you made a wise descision, I am currently on a Prime package and I hardly get more than 150kb/s on a daily speed tets I run to check if any of my support calls has made any difference...

Anyways....back to battling to get service for what we pay for with hard earned money....

whichever way u look at it, keep ur cybersmart pacakge.

Neotel is not for gaming
IF you want to use unlimited to download then calculate your nightrider.
neotel at a100kbps max posible speed you get to download 30.9gigs per month, 24/7 non stop.
Cybersmart with nightrider and a topup of 3 gigs you can do 30 gigs and i have done upto 27 gigs in a month on emule so its possible.

price wise neotel unlimited is R469
cybersmart is R259+189(topup)+25(nightrider) = R473 (R4 more expensive)

Cybersmart wins, its faster, u can play games, u can still download. and if you're like me then cybersmart also lets you use skype and voip at very high quality.
