Neotel NeoConnect prepaid pricing

This seems ideal a replacement for dial-up. Imagine a older person using xsinet at R50 per month and using dial-up. This kind of user will probably only use 50-100MB per month. This is a pre-paid service with no contract and you can consume 50MB one month and 5 MB the next with no penalty or loss of MB.

Yes the device is R599 but a DSL modem and 3G modem is about the same price.

You need to compare this to say a MTN 100MB pre-paid data bundle @ R80 which is R1.25 per MB. The out of bundle rate is then R0.65 per MB. The only time you get a bundle rate of R0.19 on MTN is with a 2GB data bundle.

I don't know of a cheaper way to get 100MB per month for an all inclusive cost of R20.

Actually, the more I think about it. At 50kbps the damn data should be free, and always on!!! Honestly, thats so slow its obscene!

God forbid they shape it...whahaha.

But at those speed who wahts that anyway down a 5meg email takes forever.

Why would anybody in their right mind pay that price for a "dial-up" connection. And why in the first place is a "new" telecoms company marketing internet access that comes from a time when Billy Rae Cyrus was popular. Jeez this company is backwards.

This is like showcasing the Morris Minor at the 2010 Paris Auto Show.

im more interested in the voice service (dont have a land line at my house) I connect wirelessly to my uncle adsl next door. Is prepaid neotel or prepaid telkom better for me? With this speed how long will it take to download 1 mb file?

At these Neotel speeds a 1MB file would take around 2 minutes 15 sec to download

What a Joke Neotel, You the biggest IDIOTS out in the Country
