Hi guys.

My mother has an EEE PC from Asus (Lord knows why)
Its running some version of Linux and as such I have no idea how to get drivers for the modem. (I would simply set up a dial up connection once it works i assume.)
I am aware that there is a 'guide' on installing the driver on Neotels website but i have tried, and as I am useless with Linux, have been unsuccessfull.

Has anybody here managed to get it the drivers onto the EEE PC?
If so please could you assist me on how to get it to work..
I have thought of installing XP on it but the HDD is only 1.4GB and its too small.
I believe 98 would have troubles with drivers for everything else.
And I have even been unsuccessfull installing any other OS on it aswell (i have an external cd /dvd rom but for some reason it wont boot from the cd giving me driver errors{even though it recognizes it fine when im using the Linux OS}).

Please assist.
Thanks.

A good start would be http://wiki.eeeuser.com/ to find out how to get into the console, and then probably follow the rest of the basics from other Linux guides regarding Neotel.

The HDD will be 2gb, it looks like 1.4 formatted on the default linux because of the partitions. You can upgrade it with a cheap sd card.

Follow the directions at the eee wiki recomended above to install XP on it. There is an app that makes a bootable xp installation on a flash drive.

Ye thanks for the replies guys.
I have decided to stick XP on my 4GB card for her.
That seems the easiest route to go.
Thanks all.
