Just a rant from my side on the unacceptable level of service (what service) from Neotel -
Made an application via the phone last week Monday - got to speak to a lady by the name of Frankie who could hardly speak English and instead of just sending me the app via email as I requested, she insisted on doing the app via the telephone - needless to say, my call lasted around half an hour...
Came back to me on Wednesday to say I needed to pay a R700 deposit - sure no problem, paid via internet transfer same day and faxed proof of payment
Rep from this site contacted me on Thursday and said the "call centre" had "lost" my proof of payment and now they would have to wait until funds showed up in their account - promised me that he would "personally" now sort out my order and would get back to me on Friday - ha ha, luckly I wasn't holding my breath!
No word from anyone yesterday - ???
Phoned the call centre today and got told "they are still waiting for my deposit" - WTF?! Demanded to speak to a manager and finally got to speak to Tumi/Tami and he amazingly got the app processed! Now I still have to wait 7 freaking days for delivery! This after a 20 minute cellphone call!
Funny how you have to run around after them to make sure they got their money, etc! If I hadn't phoned this morning, would my application ever have actually gone through? I wonder!
If I didn't have to wait 6 weeks for my Telkom account to be transferred to my new area (yup, barrel of fun there too!) I wouldn't have had to go through all this!
So much for SA's new operator!
PS - Not going to cancel my Telkom order until I have a working Neotel phone and internet just in case!
 
I had the same problem with regards to the deposit.

Firstly the system apparently had an error and they didn't bother to call me back.
Secondly, the deposit went through but then there was a problem via accounts but I told them the details with regards to the payment and it was sorted.

Oh, I had to pay a R1000 deposit :(

The Neotel rep here on MyBB is pretty good but I'm sure he has alot to deal with because Neotel has issues currently and alot of us are suffering like mad!

Since I became active on this forum in February, I have had an influx of queries / complaints / requests and compliments.

Compounded with the current network problems, I have not been able to keep up.

My apologies to sdupreez.
 
One day things are gonna be awesome! Imagine... youtube with no buffering! OMG!
 
That's ADSL boet, It's not Neotel - 2 very different products.

thanks captain obvious. my point is everyone is praising neotel, or least they where, and there service delivery is even worse than telkoms.
 
Whose praising neotel? This is the neotel rant thread. Did i miss something where someone slipped in some praise?
 
Neotel not calling back is unacceptable.

Agreed.

I called and left 2x voicemails (Saturday & Last night) regarding my problems - not a single call back and I know that I left clear messages saying my problem and my number (especially my number) multiple times.
 
Just an update on this:

The customer's service was delivered in the promised timeframe of 7 days but with the line suspended as agreed with customer. The delay was due to deposit not being received (which is still outstanding).

1) I'm using the device/service atm
2) The deposit was paid on the 24th and fax sent on same day (Oh, no it was lost by your call centre)
3) Another fax of proof of payment sent yesterday morning
4) WTF is actually going on in your company?
5) Device delivered last night by courier company (at 8:30pm)
6) Funny how it is "suspended" cause I haven't paid my deposit (ok, I am imagining things!!) but we are currently online with it and have used the phone as well
7) WAKE UP NEOTEL REP and stop making out like I am the one in the wrong here@!@@@
8) One last thing ..... do you not have access to your bank accounts? Coz one check will see the money there ;)

Got the application processed without proof of payment? Hard to believe, or am I missing something?
 
@ Meph: Procedure was followed therefore the delay and yes bank accounts were checked.

I could go into more detail but I am not going to do that - this is not a mud slinging match and where ever we may have been wrong please accept my apologies.

The customer has received the service and is satisfied - this case is closed.
 
More a case of no communication between the departments ...... as I said before, all your help from this side was and still is appreciated BUT more Neotel employees need to get on the wagon and the little snipe at my sister about her not paying you guys yet was most unappreciated.
 
You guys are missing the point from Neotel, they say they will call you back in 24 hours! Heres the point they only work 1 hour a day, which means they will call you in 24 working days.... :D

Just kidding : but I have also had the worse service from them, the best responses I have gotten to date was through the Neotel rep on myBB forums, he at least replies to Pm's and other forums...

Hope they can resolve the internet speed issues, as this is what most of the complains are about!!
