Neotel - should I?

For the last 4 weeks and longer.......although I am in a Execellent reception area...the service is a BIG FRUSTRATING PAIN. I have made the following observations.....Only about 20% of the time is a connection made.....within 10-15 minutes the connection fails..........speeds are very slow. Switching the router on/off in efforts to make a new connection drives you CRAZY!

Can totally relate. I wasted money buying a signal booster from Poynting.co.za. Not the least bit thrilled :mad:

I only used 3GB from my 10GB cap in April. Don't know if it was all those holidays or just poor signal. Maybe both combined.

Mine worked fine for 3 days, now it's packed away, perhaps never to be seen again. Wasted R900 :mad:

RUN WHILE U STILL CAN!

Todays excuse for my service not working was "The accounts department mailbox is full and they did not get our request"

So I said "put me through to the accounts dept"

"Sorry, we dont have their numbers to call them"

:confused:

Best thing I ever did, was leave Neotel.

At Least I have a working Internet connection now, decent speeds, and not one issue.

@ JMRHOWES, long time - was wondering whether you were successfull in cancelling?
I guess everyone has now realised that you were right with your opinion of Mr. Neotel Rep - he has actually done sweet nothing on these forums.
Anyways, please provide step by step for successful cancellation, did you have to pay device charge for the reminder of your contract?

@nk1

I had to go through the normal cancellation process, emailed Neotel. Received Confirmation of Cancellation by end of month, and the necessary Device fee.

Neotel Rep - Helped me get ahold of Service Delivery Manager - This allowed me to get further info on issues and cancellations.

Now with ADSL with AXXESS ISP - Brilliant - Support is 100%, Service is 100%
