In SA one needs to be able to choose between the lesser of the many evils. (And pay handsomely for it! Medical, Security, Education and Yes. Broadband as well) Otherwise we would've had cheap cars as well by now. Instead people are being ripped off, but every month cars sales are still going up. If everyone decided to stop buying cars for two or three months what would happen? Will it make a difference?
I don't think so. Since everyone wants a BMW or Merc. And if your car is written off or stolen you need one to get to work. So we'll always be screwed. Since there will always be a car sold somewhere is SA on every given day.
Internet is something one can be without for a while without it affecting your life. Actually fresh air apparently is healthy for you! (Will try it out some day.)
If Neotel can't get the client base they need they will be force to drop prices or close the business. I won't change over to Neotel just to spite Telkom. In the end it's all about the price you pay for what you get. In my case I can barely afford broadband on 13gig's a month. And many can only afford 3 gigs. So if Neotel or anyone else can provide a similar service at a better price they will get my business. My ADSL account is providing to my needs and I will also not be suckered into a cheaper service that might prove unstable (Like 3G) or with an expansive initial layout (I-Burst) or something that could go the same route as the Do Do (Satellite)
(Rambling on and on and on and on ....)
Only Time Will Tell. (And by that it won't be that long for the change. (This time next year I hope!))
