Good Day Everyone.

I just need to state the following after the posted news article related to Neotel and throttling.

WE DON'T THROTTLE. We simply don't apply any kind of throttling on CDMA at all - period.

I would like to mention backhaul upgrades at this point, and like you to know we are focused at raising this to support 10MB backhaul links over slightly lower current statistics. We are well aware of the challenges faced by some of you, especially those in current congested site areas, and the priority we have at further developing the infratructure.

This should leave none of you sceptical about the value that our subscribers hold using our services.

Hi Hugo

Thanks for the feedback and clarification. I just wish the Neotel PR department would provide this type of feedback in a timely manner: will make it easier for everyone.

Hugo, according to speedtest.net over the past couple of weeks my connection speeds have averaged at about: download 0.19mb/s upload 0.50mb/s ping 232 (http://www.speedtest.net/result/766778356.png). I have many more and have sent most of them to you so you know what Im talking about.

So what is the reason for the consistent slow speeds then?

Due to your current location the environement and your situation versus sites, you don't have the optimal coverage. Unfortunately the land environment plays a huge role in affected signal and connection, and if you are on the verge of any network area, it is gauranteed not to offer you the service you are requiring.

All I was asking for was a stable internet connection that doesnt get so slow that it takes 35 mins to download a 5MB file. Can neotel not even provide this?

How many other users are on the base station I connect to?

How many users can a base station handle?
