Neotel turns 8, still going strong

Last paragraph could have just been:
"When looking at South Africa, Joshi is concerned about the ANC running the country"
 
Despite the regulatory issues, they could have been so much better.
Recent experience with them just shows how restricted they are. Literally a big corporate with processes and procedures and no flexibility. Tried to arrange a temporary speed upgrade on fibre for a 3 month period. They would rather lose out on business than accommodate a customers' needs.
 
Start deploying fibre with an open access model...Less yada yada

Neotel CEO and MD Sunil Joshi might think Neotel is innovative, I doubt his opinion is a reflection of reality, if anything Neotel is the least innovative network operator.

Telkom is probably more innovative than Neotel.

8 years later and I still can't order anything from them even if I wanted to.

I'm not convinced that Neotel even tried to compete with the cellular network operators, Neotel would have chosen 3G/HSPA if it really wanted to compete.

Instead, Neotel chose an already orphaned wireless broadband technology that no other company was using in SA (CDMA2000 with promises of EV-DO). Neotel is not nearly as bad as Sentech was, but there are still far too many similarities between the two companies and the bad decisions they have made.

Yup, pointless process. There should be a second round with the requirement that the SNO this time actually provides landline services to consumers.
