I cannot see people rushing blindly in for this product
Apart from the fact that their reputation also sucks

I assume this will be the antenna installation and possibly the wimax router.
 
Disappointing.

More expensive that the ADSL options (Uncapped 1mbps MWEB for example) are cheaper and don't rely on variable wireless services.

Wimax???? Neotel seem to love using tech everyone else is moving away from, I assume they are getting some good deals on kit or something. Seriously why not LTE??

Basically a decent option if you have landline issues, a congested exchange (Telkom upgrades should sort that out soon though) or you are too far from an exchange.

The only redeeming factor would be VERY low contention.
 
NEOFAIL... ah ah thats not the way to go. My vocal cords have just recovered from their call centre.

Even if they gave me for free I would not take it.

Talking of Neotel Fibre, funny how the consumer uncapped 1mbps (R750) service is exactly 1/15 of the 15mbps uncapped commercial fibre service (R11250) with it's 2TB fair usage throttle...

Hello, Neotel has poor coverage so this package only benefits where there is coverage, also have to consider the strength of the signal, I doubt the speeds will be reached by many.
 
Ha! finally Neotel! Since they say its only 1 IP address, do you think ill still be able to connect a few PC's through ethernet ports and one or two via wifi?

Does Neotel have a coverage map of this product?

It is a really good product in my opinion, would not mind being tied down to that for 12 months.

Its nice, since I do not use more than 5GB at my house, then 15GB at friends' houses.

Yes, this is Point to point microwave, you will have a directional antennae installed on a 2 meter pole on the side of your house. If they use indoor CPE, they will still have to install as they need to determine the correct placement of the CPE to get the antennae pointing towards the tower.

This is where I think they can learn a couple tricks from Telkom....give the service on a month-month contract and if unhappy give a month's notice and give back the equipment and the equipment goes to the next person, if companies can't do this In My Opinion then as a consumer it means to me that "they aren't confident enough in their own product, and fingers are still burnt so...".

My telkom Wimax works like that....and IF Neotel could change that for me.....I might reconsider them in the future (seeing as telkom fails to install my line after 2 yrs:P)

But signing up long term with a company who already has such a bad reputation (even on this site) is just too much of a risk for me.

Thanks Neotel, but change your deal to month to month with no once off equipment fees of 1k-3k , no long term contracts like telkom, you are here to compete with Telkom, aren't you? So compete, you are doing the opposite of competing...

Thats our neotel Wimax, we're on the business package : 5Mbit/s up/down and 5 public IP's

Haven't seen shaping here, we're pushing all our voice and hosting 3 servers locally with no issues. Must add that we have line of sight which helps.
