All the Neotel News headlines used to link to this site, which I thought was really cool. :p

This is no longer happening & went I went back a bit. The last link was on 30 May 2008. :(:( See here.

Since the 1st of June there have been no links to this site. Are we being snubbed.:confused:

Their rep also ran away very quickly, couldn't take the heat.

To think we wanted to support them so badly. :o

I've actually noticed the rep lurking around, looking at threads, but no responses or interaction that I've seen in a while.

I think the rep they've chosen, seems more of a media/PR related entitity than techie related.

EDIT: and dude wtf is up with that postcount? :D :p

It does seem that way, which is better than nothing, if he/she reports back to the Neotel people about our complaints and what we actually want from them...but not really what we need ito a forum rep I guess.

As for the postcount - it is down from 130/day to around 90/day and still falling ;)

I have asked our web administrator to look at what is happening with the news section in the morning. It was definately not a snub.
As for my current role in the forum, just to clarify it really is to track and provide information to the organisation about your burning issues in this forum. We are currently in process of appointing a technical rep that will answer to your questions promptly and accurately. In the meantime we still appreciate and monitor all your feedback

I only have two issues with Neotel, your device does not support ethernet (which pretty much rules out routers/internet sharing) and you cannot make a phone call and surf online at the same time (reminds me of the dialup days back in the 90's?). Sort those 2 issues out and people like me will suddenly take Neotel seriously.

and I'll be one of those who will go over once we can get a ethernet device, call while online and also sort out your upload speed to be at least near to ADSL or Vodacom HSUPA

Thanks for letting us know you are still alive!

Forgive the bunch on these forums for being rude, insensitive etc.

Neotel will learn that the guys on this forum are some of the greatest guys to work with once you have gained their trust.

Looking forward for the Neotel techie to sign on!

Well that is good news indeed - thanks Neotel, goes much appreciated.

We would like to see / hear some rough ETAs at some stage also (soon) - else I'm afraid the eyeball count on this particular forum will most probably diminish quite rapidly...

I was led to believe, by a call centre agent, that something will be happening very soon in Cape Town. Not sure how true, so lets wait & see. We have been waiting so long in any event. Hopefully their device will be sorted by the time they launch in Cape Town.

Yikes

Thought we we talking weeks till launch?? Now I read this

http://www.neotel.co.za/neotel/view/neotel/en/page61

Neotel has officially launched its services in selected areas of Johannesburg, with additional parts of Gauteng (including Pretoria) being added over the coming weeks. Cape Town and Durban services will be launched in the latter half of 2008 and Neotel will communicate these areas to the public as soon as they become available.

No surprise there. So much for end of June 2008.

Any bets that "Second half of 2008" will turn into "First half of 2009" then "Later in 2009" then "Soon" then "Very Soon" etc...? :D

Why is it so difficult to have an online map available?
Even iWorst managed that.
