Nero Burning ROM MINUS bloatware

Maybe not

Notes:

Make sure to turn off the "Ask Toolbar" option during installation.

Download is 55 MB. Add/Remove Programs says it's 10 MB.

Looks like the old SmartStart rather than the original interface.

Reports a folder of 7.2 GB to be 236 MB. <-- urrr not trusting this!

Awesome thanks, i was actually looking for Nero again and found it's like 1GB to download (ultimate edition)....i only went "wtf, i only want to burn a freaking DVD!"

Like biometrics said, just use ImgBurn.

Yea i was using something similar, but i wanted Nero for DVDShrink as they work together natively [just click and burn] . Although DVDShrink create an image also, i'm just lazy ;).

it amazes me how many great windows apps eventually go the way of bloatware

The new ImgBurn (2.5) is supposed to allow you to expand the tree and deselect items like Nero used to do, but I can't figure out how, help ...

Any other CD burning software you can recommend? CDBurnerXP turned out to be a dud, ignored the burn speed setting and never verified again after the first use!

I occasionally use windows, and it amazes me how few open source options there are to do simple things. almost any piece of software will require some crack if you want to use it.

and i say this here because I installed win7 RC1 and wanted to burn a CD. i had to go searching for my DVD writers CD instead of having a readily available piece of software I could download.

Below the destination box there are 2 buttons, the 1st one is "switch to advanced input". A "show disc layout editor" button appears above, and from there you can delete individual files from folder selections...
