Nespresso Capsules

Cannot believe people drink that 'canned' **** at that price. Get a proper old fashioned espresso pot and grind your own beans if you can. My cappucino at home is better than most jhb restuarants.

Do these pods contain ground coffee or instant?

It's ground coffee, just sealed in an aluminium casing.

So in many cases it can be even fresher than the beans you bought that are a few weeks old and have already been exposed too much.

I can't believe any of you drink that crap :p

*sips tea* :D

i had 4 misfires out of 10 caffeluxe pods on a nespresso U machine. R40 for 6 cups of coffee vs R53 to R57 for 10 cups. my advice is stick to the original nespresso pods.

Also had many misfires on the generic pods on a U ...

What happens when it misfires? Does the machine get messed up or do you just waste the pod?

Mine pours coffee all over the capsule catch tray (and counter)

My misfires are more like the prongs which should inject hot water into the pod, crushes the pod, jamming the cheap crap coffee pods onto the loading mechanism, voiding the warranty. Do not use generic pods. Especially the brand "ethical pods". Stick to only nespresso.

+1 and not to mention bad for the environment. Coffee pods are just a scam to hook you into buying a certain brands. Freshly ground beans is the best :D

You cant make a good quality cup of coffee a la nespresso as easy and versatile and quick as nespresso. The aluminium pods keep the ground coffee quite fresh. And if you're concerned about the environment, there's this revolutionary idea called recycling, so it isnt that bad. Ultimately fresh roasted coffee is awesome but that doesnt make nespresso crap. You do also get a refillable pod from coffeeduck, in which you could put your own fresh ground coffee.

I'm still amazed at people saying they have misfires, in our two machines we must have used a good 400 pods by now and no misfires

People shouldn't rant about something when they don't know how the person deals with the situation. Personally, the empty capsules go straight into the orange bag for recycling, and not the black bin bags full of rubbish.

I love some quality coffee, but I don’t have R15 000 to drop on a Breville (#goals), and I’ve liked the idea of experimenting with different flavours easily with a Nespresso machine … and just ordered one for a steal on a Black Friday special on Takealot with help of an advance Christmas present from my family.

Also got some glasses, some Terbodore Italian Hazelnut pods, some Red Espresso chai pods, and a Aerolatte milk frother. A lot of kit for only R2000.

Please will one of the MyBB Nespresso owners guide me in the practical do’s and don’ts? For example I also want decaf pods, anyone got a recommendation for good-tasting pods?
