Nestle has found a way to create chocolate without adding any sugar

You know you've always been able to create chocolate without sugar right?

Exactly, I don't see why this is so special?

Ah, bad headline.

“The sugar reduction is incidental, not a focus,” von Maillot said. “It’s more about a novel way to produce chocolate and use the best of the cocoa pod.”

And they are saying they will use the sugar in the plant itself, so just no ADDED sugar.

“Using pulp makes it a more premium chocolate,” von Maillot said. “Sugar is a cheap ingredient.”

And the Pulp is free...

Was thinking this the other day. Why do we have to ingest so much sugary crap to enjoy a few pleasures. We need more low/no sugar alternatives, even if they cost a bit more.

Cadbury slabs are now paper thin and basically rock candy with brown colouring.

You need to get your hands on a slab of Godiva chocolate. PnP usually has them in their own little branded carts. R40 a slab but so worth the price.

The extra sugar in normal chocolate actually hides the taste. Its like here, have a slab of milk solids with sugar and a tiny bit of cocoa and call it chocolate.
