Hi all

Recently got 20MB adsl just to stream netflix in 4k, but it dont seam to be 4k (yes i choose 4k content) looks more HD than 4k...

I did the network test on netflix app on my new LG tv and the result end up about max 10mb speed....but when on speedtest.net i get 18mb with a peak dl speed of 2.1MB/sec, even torrents run at 1.8MB/sec

So how do i know when it stream 4k really? Any help?

Thx

Try it on a pc first. There is a shortcut that will show you the streaming info while the video plays. Just google for it. If that works check how your tv is connected to your network. If it is over wifi that might be the bottleneck. Or was the speedtest done from the tv?

All on cable to router. Speedtest was tv inside netflix...and normal test was on tv...

This is a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway :)... are you sure you upgraded to the 4 screen + Ultra HD Netflix plan?

If I recall correctly not all content is 4K. Are you sure you are choosing a 4 k option?

Checked the shortcut...but my monitor of pc is only FHD... and even then it shows me in 1280x780..but usage is 1.7MB/sec i see...

Are you paying for the 4k Netflix monthly option? How much a month are you paying?

poor agents at netflix says i need 25mb.....my 22 not good enough....any of u who can stream 4k on 20mb line?

$12...4 screens and 4k... but i would like 1 or 2 screens only....4 is to much... their is no other 4k options...

So that is almost 14 Mbps. It might be that the jump to 4K requires just more than what your line can handle. Which would suck. And I am pretty sure when they started showing 4K Netflix said you need 20Mbps. Have you streamed 4K from youtube yet?

I just tried...in the app i can see at "specs for nerds it uses 10 000kbps" and seem to be HD 1080 only...what is 1.0MB/sec...it dont uses the full line... i tried in browser on tv their i manual select 4k and it then buffer sometimes...but it dont use the full line speed it seem :( speedtest.net show 18mb and dumeter show while i speedtest i use 2.1MB/sec...and torrents i get 1.8MB/sec...im scratching my head here..

Not sure what else to try. That looks like an artificial speed limit. Contact netflix on their live chat. They gave pretty good support. Maybe they can help you resolve it.

I am currently streaming 4K Netflix my line speed when I press the i button on the remote is 7.63mbps. Has anyone been able to get youtube to stream in 4K I see it plays in HD only on the Samsung App.

If the speed says 7.63Mbps you're not streaming 4K Netflix, you're streaming 1080P Netflix and also the reason you're getting HD on YouTube.

Does the Netflix app that you are using not show you the quality you are watching?

I know that on my Roku app if you press star then it comes up with what audio stream I am using, as well as the resolution. I have a 720p tv so my app shows 720HD

If you are in Cape Town I can bring my Roku to you to test?

fyi all browsers are max 720p netflix quality. If you want more you MUST use MS Edge, then you can go up to 1080P
