Netflix could destroy DStv - MultiChoice

I think they are meaning YouTube TV. Which is another streaming pay channel with content from other providers such as Fox, HBO etc.

But.like you said for the others it is not supported here and is quite expensive. I looked at getting it but it's.like 44 dollars a month if I remember correctly.
YouTube TV is also seeing a decline in subscribers because it's turning out more expensive than other services run separately. I'd only sign up to HBO Now anyway.

Goodbye DTSV and MultiChoice as the video rental stores closed down due to tech moving forward now it your turn. We have been ripped off for so long now its your turn RIP

What one can do, also, is subscribe to a service while a series is running, then unsuscribe, when it is done. No need to subscribe to all permanently. Only when they have something you want to watch.

It will already be a vast improvement if we can get rid of the OUTSurance adverts!!

Is Netflix still being offered on the new decoders? If I was Netflix I would pull support for the device and tell them to GFY.

If the cost of uncapped LTE drops (no fibre here) I would drop DSTV in a second. The commericals and promotions between shows is simply maddening. Not too mention the quality of shows, as cheapskate as they can buy them.

Netflix is extremely cheap especially if you have a family account so most people have both. Doubt netflix will kill DTSV as most of Africa doesn't have proper internet, might change long term

Outside streaming services could knock DSTV's profitability, but doudt it will kill them.

But they should be upping their game, instead of bleating to ICASA.

Is that a signal for me to sell my Multichoice shares? They have been a stellar performer.

Peacock is only $4.99 a month or $9.99 without adverts. NBC was far easier to sign up to but everything is moving over to Peacock now.
You just need to set up a US PayPal account and VPN to sign up to Peacock.

Yeah I know. I have a US paypal account as well as a smartdns account with multiple streaming channels (US Netflix, CBS, Hulu, Disney+, Nat Geo, Prime),

My point was that DSTV are complaining in that article about "competition" that you cannot even "legally" get here in the country. The only one on that list they mentioned that you can purchase legally via a South Africa Subscription is Netflix. All the others are work arounds and so even if ICASA does see it as "bad competition" it makes absolutely no difference on the people that are currently streaming those channels from other countries.

Yeah I think Youtube Tv and Sling and those type of streaming services are more geared at trying to compete directly with the cable guys (large range of programs from different film studios.) and so offer a large variety of shows that you would generally see on DSTV or TV.

Personally my favourite streaming service is CBS all access and I purchase the annual fee for 99 dollars. Most of the shows I enjoyed on TV are on there.
