Big changes for people who subscribe to Netflix in South Africa

Netflix CTO Elizabeth Stone has revealed that the streaming giant has big plans for more interactive content and offering “snackable” vertical video on smaller smartphone screens.

At the same time, Reuters has reported that Netflix is actively exploring acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery’s studio and streaming business.

I hhheijt this generation.
Honestly Netflix might need it, they've not really had any big hits or big series for quite sometime, they've lost momentum.

I would agree they need something new and interesting, but that new and interesting is very unlikely to be my cup of tea really.

I can't think of anything more annoying that "interactive" TV when all I want to do is turn my brain off and stare at pixels. If I wanted interactive TV I'd play games.

They did have some interactive stuff previously that well I played with for a bit and wasn't really great. Was like playing a movie/series version of those choose your own adventure books from times gone by. Or early FMV games from the 90s but with waaay better compression.

Yeah, was thinking those old FMV type games as well, and they were interesting for a short while but got boring quickly.

If they released the Tex Murphy saga on interactive TV, with better graphics and video. I'm there.

Me too… so now we have to endure YouTube shorts too and TikTok

The phrase "“snackable vertical video" just replaced "live, love laugh" as the most hated phrase I have ever heard.

I don't care if people want to give themselves brainrot, but just like youtube shorts and FB reels etc. etc.... they are going to shove this into your face until your eyes bleed.

I'm out.
Their content's been mostly awful for a long time now.
Clearly the money that comes in is not going towards fixing the actual problems for those of us who don't suffer from fried dopamine receptors yet.
