Hi there.

I am having problems watching netflix on my PS3. It is constantly getting signed out of the playstation network, and this results in movies and shows not loading past 25% and then an error pops up. The error is because i have been signed out of the paystation network.
Is anyone haveing the same problem? and do you perhaps have a solution for me?
Thank you.

Never once had that happen and I use the PS3 for Netflix quite a bit. I assume you're system is up to date otherwise you would not be able to log into Netflix. Does netflix work on your PC without issues?

Yes, it works on my laptop and on my ipad. I get signed out of PSN while watching and it says its a DNS error? but all the DNS settings are fine.

Are you sure it's not your internet connection dying or resetting very often? This would probably cause problems very similar to those you described. And how is your PS3 connected to the network? Cable or wireless? And which service provider are you using to remove the geographical restrictions?

The PS3 Netflix app checks public DNS servers (Google and OpenDNS) in addition to the ones you have set up.

Creating static routes as in this guide worked for me

Interesting. What do those static routes actually do? And what are the 206.x IP addresses? Are those the Netflix server addresses?

Those two addresses are resolver1.opendns.com and resolver1.level3.net (and 8.8.8.8 is google-public-dns-a.google.com).

The static route basically diverts dns queries for those servers to the dns server of your router, which will use whatever you have set up (Unotelly, unblock-us).

Netflix hard-coded those addresses in a recent update, probably to get around these types of services.

Cool. Thanks for the explanation. Do you know which Netflix apps are affected? Is it across all devices (PS3, Android, iOS, Roku, Sony, Samsung, etc) or just a select few?

Just the PS3 app so far.

Of course they could change that anytime they want. It depends on how much they really want to stop us, and if they were just doing this at the specific request of the networks or something.

Just PS3 right now.

Needed to do this for Tunlr as well, but I was under the impression Unotelly fixed it somehow.

Am experiencing similar problems with watching netflix on ATV. I am using Unblock-US. As I feel its a DNS problem I have contacted their support and waiting on issue to be resolved.

Anyone having issues with Netflix? Mine staggers of late and is always streaming on the lowest resolution (when it isnt jerking).

My speed tests show I have good throughput. I have a 10M Telkom Uncapped Account. I know they're doing upgrades in my area (ADSL upgrades) but seeing as my speeds are ok, I'm confused as to why Netflix is still a problem.

Help
