Netflix users would rather cancel their subscription than watch ads

Not surprised...they generate a tiny profit out of their subscriptions, they have to monetise their viewership somehow. The Q4 2015 results were around 1.8bn in revenue and 40-odd million profit.

You confused me for a bit here. I record GoT on PVR and when I watch it later in the day there are no ads at all. Are you not watching the Express version at 3/4 in the morning then?

Not a clue. I was only forced to stoop down to DSTV level for this one episode while I was at the parentals.

I can't handle ads either. I would rather pirate than ever start watching DSTV again!

Even when my radio switches automatically to the traffic report, I change it back to my music before the sponsored ads can start.

If you ever want to suffer from ads, just try to listen to more than one song on Deezer free. It is torture!

Similar experience whenever I watch dstv at friends: Watching a new series and there's ads every 10 minutes. I can't enjoy something like that.
Doesn't your friend have a pvr? As I've had one since 2008 and you just fast forward through the ads.

What I did notice as well when I was home was that DSTV have taken away the little banner things between the adverts and the show so stopping the fast-forward at the correct bit is an exercise in patience.

It must be tempting - targeted ads across 190 odd countries…

My Netflix subscription ended today - I might apply that money to removing the ads in Hulu, or I might just keep living with them.

sure put adverts in,

but then netflix must be free to watch because the adverts pay for the content and operating costs.

and then some people will return to pirating anyway, because some cant handle the attention span killing, adhd creating rubbish that is advertising.

but hey, at least it will be paid for by adverts. lol yeah right!!!

Never noticed that to be honest.
