Hey guys, I need some help with signing up for a US Netflix account.
I currently bank with FNB and have a gold cheque card.
I've used a VPN and a DNS to try signing up but not luck.
I even used my PayPal account which is linked to the cheque card.
I can't even signup for a South African Netflix.
There's more than enough funds on both my card and PayPal account.

It keeps giving me this error " There appears to be a problem with the payment method you are trying to use."

Any help please ? It would be much appreciated.

I used that thread for tips to get it working.

Anyone knows how to bypass the region districtions, Unotelly, Unlocator and Tunnelbear don't work ?

If it's a secret then PM me.

Thanks :D

There is no such thing as signing up for US Netflix as signing up in SA is exactly the same. Netflix serves up the relevant country catalogue based on where it determines your location is. DNS and VPN providers use to fool Netflix into thinking that you are in a country of your choice (most often US because of the size of their catalogue). Over the last few months Netflix has implemented measures that detect this and currently there is no working solution. I also get the feeling that the dns providers are starting to give up on playing the cat and mouse game with Netflix. Borderless Internet in Canada still seems up to the task but I think Getflix in Australia has given up.

At the moment you are **** out of luck when it comes to bypassing the geoblocking on Netflix.

I had the same issue with my FNB account, signing up for Netflix SA, selecting the Basic option, and using Chrome. I then tried it using Internet Explorer, and selected the Standard option, and it went through. Not sure which of the two factors was the issue :)

Edit: I then tried SmartDNSProxy, set up a trial account, and configured my DNS for US. Netflix is opening, and it *seems* to work. No idea if I'm actually on the US catalog now though.

why would you want to do that, just sign up using your SA details. there is no difference.

It will not solve your geoblocking restrictions
