An eviction notice might be handy for my Step-Son, but I am hopeful he will join the employed soon, so might not be needed. Then my electricity and internet can take a rest, not to mention the fridge.

Picture this:

I have 5 users in my household using Netflix (1 among many other services). Wife decides to watch something from work during her lunch hour. I'm in Cape Town on a work trip, I watch Netflix from the hotel Wifi. Kids watching from home. So all in all, 3-5 different IPs... Going to be hard for Netflix to block IPs without blocking legitimate viewers... They do it so me once and I'm done, will just cancel it. Hardly anything on there these days anyway.

After Covid there isn't much on Netflix we haven't seen yet.

Yea.. my kids live with their mother. Got netflix on their phones/tablets.

If they keep 4 streams then happy. Else we got problems

I mean if it's uncapped, and you have a good enough connection, why not. Honestly I don't saturate my link 24/7, and I wouldn't miss 20mbps. But I don't share my NF account, anyway.
 
Netflix provided for up to 4 streams without being explicit wrt to who and where. Why don't they simply limit their package to 2 streams at a time?

Some people have 4 or more people in their household watching. Limiting the number of concurrent streams would make the service less attractive for such people.
 
The “I want it for free” brigade. Then moan when people steal the state blind as they too “want it for free”.

Would be cool if they did a one profile account with 4K streaming.

I PAY for 2 connections, or 4 connections, how I allocate those connections is my business. Not Netflix.

If I give them to 10 different people and they connect concurrently, then Netflix has reason to beef. But as long as my account does not make use of more than the purchased number of connections. Netflix is not being abused in any way.

Spot on. I pay for 4 connections. I want to use 4.
 
Surely Netflix should just charge per connection? Then you can link as many connections to your account as you wish? But you have to pay for it. If they need to charge more per connection, then they need to increase the price.
 
This just creates the formula for more piracy and illegal downloads.
People will just cancel their services and retrieve the media via other means unfortunately.
How will that help Netflix with their bottom line?
 
I see the wording:

1. As a Netflix member, you are charged monthly on the date you signed up. A Netflix account is for people who live together in a single household. Learn more about sharing Netflix.

Yet

2. Sharing Netflix with someone who doesn’t live with you

People who do not live in your household will need to use their own account to watch Netflix.

When a device outside of your household signs in to an account or is used persistently, we may ask you to verify that device before it can be used to watch Netflix or switch your Netflix household. We do this to confirm that the device using the account is authorized to do so. See “Verifying a device” below for details.

Netflix will not automatically charge you if you share your account with someone who doesn’t live with you.
 
As long as the device being used to watch Netflix is using the internet connection in the primary account owner's household, we will not require verification.

If a Netflix account is used by a device that is not associated with the primary account owner's household, the device will need to be verified before it can be used to watch Netflix. We do this to confirm that the device using the account is authorized to do so.
 
How Netflix detects devices within a household

We use information such as IP addresses, device IDs, and account activity from devices signed into the Netflix account.
