it looks like the DG834 and DG834G use the same update, so maybe use the "Outside North America".

If I remember correctly, you need to use the Outside North America one. I used the wrong one, but everything worked fine. Only problem i picked up was that the Netgear Banner Ad on the web interface didn't display.

In any case, if you use the wrong one, it's easy to re-flash with the correct one.

And as pointed out earlier, if all else fails, try the DGTeam firmware.
