Netgear Router/ ADSL Problem

Ello

My company has a netgear router now we have trouble with the router/ ADSL line for the past week.

On the router it shows the internet is connected but when i try and open the internet it says server not found. I phoned the IT company and they don't know whats happening. I called telkom and they don't have a clue. I have reset the router but still no luck.

Can anyone help here please? Or is it a problem with the exchange or something?

I am getting very frustrated with this thing :cry:
 
spf2007, you need to describe your problem your network setup and problem better. "When I try open the internet" sounds pretty... non-technical =)

If I had to take some random guesses. Is your router running in "Router" mode and not "Bridge" mode? Are you using static/automatic IPs? Have you set up DHCP on your router? If you check the output of "ipconfig" in the command line of one the PCs, is the default gateway gate and DNS servers correct (they should both be the IP address of the router)?
Could be a mountain of configuration issues that are causing this. I doubt its on the ISPs end, maaaayyyybe on Telkom's end, but that's also not very likely though. Guaranteed, if I could actually come inspect your setup in person, I'd be able to at least determine the problem in 10 minutes.
