Been toying around with Routesentry for the last 48 hours when today my local seemed incredibly slow. So, for no real reason whatsoever, I wanted to look at the router's config - 192.168.0.1 - only to find that it takes ages to load.

Turned off Routesentry and went back to the original config pre-Routesentry only to find that it's still the same. Now even loading www.myadsl.co.za on it takes ages upon ages.

When I say, "ages" I mean perhaps 5+ minutes for it to go from asking for the login details and a white page to something.

I've tried resetting it and turning it off for a while... But nothing...

Is... is my baby dying? :(

Any suggestions would be welcome...

It has the latest firmware - V1.02.16...

Gosh dude. Your internet access is cursed or something :(

Silly question, but have you rebooted the router? How about unplugging it (and the telephone jack), letting it sit for a few minutes and then putting it back in?

Is it consistently sluggish?

Also, are you sure that your TCP/IP (e.g. gateway and DNS settings) are restored to what they should be?

Maybe try pinging the router IP too, see what kind of response it gives you...

haha :D

Yeah... sn3rd was helping me out with it last night and it simply refused to work properly. Did everything I could think of - full reset, turned off, etc, etc. sn3rd suspects it might be that the router just randomly decided to route incorrectly (I'm inclined to agree) but there was no obvious means of fixing it so I just RMAed it so we'll see what they say.

But it wasn't just the internet that was slow. Accessing it on 192.168.0.1 was dreadful. However, sn3rd could access it via remote connection and it'd work perfectly. It was also possible that it could be a setting on my computer(s) that was messed up, but again - I'm using another ethernet connection (apartment's internet) and it works perfectly.

Eh well... As I said, it's been RMAed so... Will see what the outcome is.

Oh, and yes - gateway/DNS manually/automatically you name it, same problem occurred :)

Dude I had the exact same thing yesterday. Same router on the same day, was the first problem I have ever encountered with the DG834GT.

All computers connected took AGES to load anything or gave errors, including 192.168.0.1.

Reset PC's, router, check plugs and same thing.

As soon as I changed the pc's to automatically assign IP address the problem was solved. Havent changed back to manual yet. Strange.
