Netoel Capping?

@Venom Rush

See my thread about poor speeds, also on Prime unlimited and speed have dropped dramatically from 120Kb to 40-50Kb in the last 2 days, have logged a call - just waiting for response now, hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Excellent. I'll be calling them tonight and most likely end up sending an email as well.

Called them again just now after logging onto my homepc and checking that downloads were crawling at 30-40Kb,
Apparently it takes 24hours to analyse to problem so I will call again tomorrow.
What is your signal strenght at ?

Mines on 4 bars and has always been at 4 bars....I haven't seen it drop below that at all.

I used to get 3-4 bars most time, now mostly 2 bars and sometimes 3 but I doubt the signal strength has anything to do with this as you are getting 4, something is seriously amiss!! I'm in the Sunninghill area.

I sent emails and called, its been a week without solution now and Im seriously considering cancelling my prime unlimited. I get nothing above 60 kb/s and the last two days I had no signal 50% of the time.. not really worth it:(

Yep nk1 it's more about the signal clarity rather that strength
For example on the Prime Device in my area I get speeds of 500KB/s on 1-2 bars as I have the device pointed right at my nearest Base Station with no obstructions.

For optimal signal strength and clarity try turning the device almost 90' to the side (Tape the handset to the phone so it doesnt drop off and use prestic to keep the device at that angle) then point the antenna directly at the Base Station, see if that makes a difference *g*

Ultimately we need antennas and filters or Neotel need to check which methods they are supply us the signal.

Thanks, my point is that is something was working fine for 2 months and I did not make any changes the guilty party must be somebody else. They need to sort out the issue. Question, are you seriously getting 500KB or is it 500kb/s?

I plan to build an antenna for mine. Will trowel seattle wireless when I get time again. You can build one for not too much - I guess about < R300 if you can get the connectors and wiring.
