Network capacity under the spotlight

Why should they not, they are making millions in profit each month.

We won't have to worry about capacity problems because data is so expensive here...a 3 gig cap is not going to kill the network. The faster the link the better for the operator cause you just hit your cap faster.

Our operators don't need to worry because they have always made billions in profit off us. Why do they even need to take out debt??

sometimes i cant help but think most of you forumites are communists.....in a capitalistic climate companies are allowed to make profit, and as far as I am aware our mobile networks are amongst the best in the world (might be wrong?). but my point is stop using the fact that our mobile operators are running a profitable company as an excuse....click click bang

Capitalism states that you make a profit at all costs, even at the expense of your staff/consumer. Take CityBank for example... tens of 1000's of people left with out jobs, millions stand to lose their homes, and the directors all got fat severence paychecks for a job well done...

I don't have much complaints with our mobile providers. Our networks are amoungst the top in the world, we have one of the lowest mobile SMS rates, though our call rates are just a tad to high... to be comparable they should be 30-40% cheaper.

Also, having to pay for same network call forwarding is rediculous... it's not like the call has to be sent down another circuit... GSM is digital...

Oh, and most 1st world countries pay for receiving voice mail and sms's.

Our coverage patterns are the envy of the US who only seem to cover major cities and some smaller areas.

My only annoyance with the big three is that they don't seem to try very hard on their data packages... look overseas... mobile data shouldn't be more than 25-50% more than DSL data.
