Primary functions of this position:
Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the server and network infrastructure and ancillary Business Systems Device. Responsible for the Network infrastructure located at the Durban and Pietermaritzburg main facility and the JHB, PE and CPT Branches.

Main tasks of Job:
Responsible for the administration and maintenance of :
 Redhat / Ubuntu / CentOS etc.
 Asterisk PBX
 VoIP
 QoS
 Squid Proxy
 LAMP
 LAN / WAN
 Router / Switch programming (Cisco / HP / Mikrotik)

 Technical system and database administration for business applications (All Advantageous)
 PHP scripting
 Shell scripting e.g. Bash
 HA Proxy
 Redis
 Rabbit MQ
 Nginx
 Rsync
 Distributed file systems i.e. swift or glusterfs
 PostgreSQL
 Puppet or similar configuration management tool
 MySQL

 Installation and setup of the technical infrastructure for new projects:
 New software used in business applications
 Involvement in project development cycle

 Ensure relevant high availability of hardware and network
 Communicating with all levels of persons/contacts such as:
 Internal contacts (From HOD to Executive to shop floor)
 External Contacts (Service Providers)
 Lab Development Engineers
 Advising the Business Systems Administrator, Support Technician and Service Provider Engineer


Minimum requirements:

Qualifications:
• Matric or NQF Equivalent
• Linux Qualification (RHCE or similar)
• Valid unendorsed drivers licence

Experience:
• 5 years in an IT Networking environment
• 5 years Management / Supervisory responsibilities
• Experience in Asterisk PBX, Squid, LAMP, PHP, MySQL

• Must be able to manage self and staff on a daily bases
• Strong problem Solving abilities
• Must be able to make decisions and recommend solutions
• Quick learner – be willing to learn new technologies
• Team player able to interact with technical peers
• Must be able to train and impart knowledge to others
• Must have high energy levels - be able to work under pressure and handle several tasks at once.
