Network Lock Code

Hi all, my brother recently came back from the UK and bought a Samsung GT-S5230 and can't use it with his Vodacom Sim. It requires a network lock code. I have heard of this but am not sure what one does to unlock the network. Anyone know how to get around this?

I would appreciate any help.

The fone is locked to his network in the UK. They do this so that you cant use your fone on other networks - unfortunately i dont think these codes are easy to find. You can try googling but i doubt you will find much. gluck man

Tried googling it and found nothing really concrete. I suppose the only option he has is to contact Vodacom themselves or Samsung and see what they say.

To unlock the phone for Vodacom SA he has to contact the network where he took the phone out. They will then send him the unlock code ,am referring to an instance were a friend bought a G1 in the UK on T-Mobile network he mailed/called them and they sent it.Not sure on how the other networks assist but he has to contact them.

I remember I had to pay 30 quid to get my phone unlocked.

He bought the phone from Vodafone so that link will help him. He actually thought at the time of buying the phone that it would not be a problem (network locks and so on) as Vodafone are linked to Vodacom over here.

Hi PoolMania, You can get Network unlock code either from your service provider(UK) or from any online unlock code providers..getting unlock code from some online unlock code providers is an easier way..i know a website called Simpleunlocking.com . Here you can your unlock code some easy steps..
