Network locked phone

Can anyone help me please ive ported to cell c from mtn now my phone is network locked i cnt use the cell c sim in my phone how do i unlock it coz neither cell c or mtn can give me the right answer

Some phones are easy to unlock some aren't

If its an android phone, just flash it. Apple phone, jailbreak it. If its a windows 8 phone, factory reset. If its an older nokia, well it is a bit more complicated then...

I was under the impression that phones can not be locked to a certain network anymore. Unless ops phone is so old that it belongs in a museum
