Hi guys,

I'm setting up a network here for the people in my block.
(Wireless)

It all works great but one chicky has a MacBook.

I've connected her to the network but I can't for the life of me find the Network Neighbourhood type deal...

WTF is this...

I'm so dof when it comes to MAC!

Help please!

Click on the Apple (top left), then click on System Preferences. In the preferences panel, select Network.
Shout if you get stuck.

okay, i'm here, with the laptop... i do what u say but i can't see anything that shows me the network itself.

*first time using a macbook, so be patient with me...

and now this stupid little hour glass thingy is spinning and wont' stop... has the pc crashed or wtf is going on here... hahaha...

Does it show under the Airport connection icon in the menu bar?

From the finder you can do > Go > connect to server (+k) - then browse

Or from any finder window there should be a "Shared" section below "Devices" that will show any networked computers.

Dont forget to check the firewall > System preferences > Security > Firewall

Okay, doing that... but it seems everything like the iBurst connection has 'crashed' because this twirly multi-coloured bliksem won't stop spinning and I can't close those things... how do i 'ctrl+alt+del' and end the tasks! haha...

This browse is also taking very long, maybe shes on a different network cause I'm on MSHOME network...

I think it's crashed BWANA... this thingy keeps twirling and i can't open anything anymore...

how do i get rid of it?

Alt+Apple ()+esc is the mac version of ctrl+alt+del

This stupid finder won't close... only 'relaunch' and its like the pc has crashed.
Re-launching the finder wont have any detrimental effect.

hold in the power button to kill the lot, fire it up again, connect to the network.

now open 'finder', there is good chance that this is the rightmost dock item with the blue Mac smiley face icon, once thats opened - second from top icon in the left pane should be network (round globe looking icon) thats basically 'Network neighbourhood' click on that and you should find your way.

What's the default password for a Macbook! hahahaha...

No good deed goes unpunished I tell ya...

WAIT! Didn't need a password to boot...

SlinkyMike & bwana... thanks!!!! :)
