Network PDF printer required...with client-side options...

Hi all,

I've been trawling Google for hours and have worked through a number of apps already...

I've been put in charge of finding a network PDF printer, but, the boss wants client-side options.

So far, I've found PDF Creator to be a great tool, but in network mode, you need to set the options on the server and every client printing to the server is then tied into those options.

What I'm looking for is an app' that prompts for all of the usual PDF options when you hit the print button...

Do any of you have any suggestions, please?

Thank you.

Why don't you just use a standalone pdf printer like cute pdf on each station and have the users print to a mapped drive?

only half reading/focusing...

but as another alternative...

can you not look at HP's eprint options?
(only on LAN and/or wifi HP printers, with internet access)
you email the print to the printer's email
printer prints it on paper
you can leave the printer for anyone to access, or you can create a list of emails permitted to print to the printer via email.

(could this be a possible solution?)

Why the need for a network printer exactly?

Why not just generate the PDF's locally?

I might be daft here but I don't see the specific use case for it.

I've put all of this to my boss Thanks for the input, everyone.

To be honest, I don't really 'get it' either, but I'm paid to do as asked, so I do asked...

It seems to have been accepted and put by the wayside, for now, which means that I can actually get on with real work now.

If/when there's an update, I'll gladly keep all of you posted.
