Our Olivetti network printer with KX driver recently started spitting out numerous pages with:

Beginning MZE , jibberish "This program cannot be run in dos mode" jibberish with RICH near the end.

Hard to track the user or pc as their name doesnt appear when they print nor does it go to any one's inbox.
Thinking it might be the BugBear virus?

yes, that is pretty much what bugbear did, although it is probably 5 years old now, so it should be easily detected by any available antivirus.

do you come to work in the morning to find the printer out of paper and the output tray full of this? if so, look for a pc left on overnight...etc.etc..or find the bloke without av and kick his butt

Just prints randomly this morning, we are running eset nod v4 anti virus so it should pick it up, nut recently clients came into office and plugged into our network, im thinking it;s a client pc.

Does said printer have a management console with which you can ban/allow certain IP's/MAC addresses?

Then add said client's IP/MAC to the ban list until it is sorted out.

I downloaded a mcafee scanner and am running it on all pc's including server, will see what it picks up.
