Network problems cause hassles for Telkom

That's bizarre. If I understand you right, buying more data won't help because Vodacom knows nothing about your Telkom account.

He has Telkom only data, now he has to buy the more expensive all net data. I've also now been with Telkom for two or so years, almost my whole family have changed on my recommendation. And up to now it worked perfectly as I always had good Telkom signal.

Now I also get the Telkom-r crap which even though I have Telkom data and I live in the same place where I've always had good telkom signal, I'm now permanently on vodacom roaming and my Telkom data is useless.

The following are my personal views and they don't represent Telkom, I really don't understand why certain telkom customers complain, I have been using this network for quite a while and I'm not saying there isn't any challenges I've encountered, I have but it was my choice to use the network no one forced me, I have another number which is an MTN one it's not perfect either but I don't complain, and the sad part about people that complain is when one buys a "telkom data" there is always always a message that advices customers that whenever the network is Roaming please be advised that telkom data will not be available, if you want to connect you can also buy a, "All network data", so I don't get logic behind the complaint seriously, funny enough same customer don't compliment telkom on being cheaper on data for e.g one is able to buy a 2.75G for only R39 lasting 2weeks and 7G for R79 for 30 days only on telkom data, which it is not always roaming its only occasionally when these problem arises, for those who don't know how to buy this very affordable data please dial " *123#" on your mobile and choose Mo'nice and enjoy this stop complaining always, like I said in the beginning these are my personal comments and views not that of telkom, however I feel let us give credit where it's due and stop to only concentrate on the negatives.

Spot the Telkom employee.

Myself, I will never trust Telkom. They stuffed up so badly in so many areas that they really have their downfall coming.

It's frustrating... Telkom works great on LTE here in PE, but whenever I drive to Humansdorp I get OOB notifications and no connectivity. Even when you disable roaming, force connectivity to the aforementioned tower the problem solving still continues.
I have the same problem in Mossel Bay. The roaming starts at just after 4 in the afternoon and then I have no connection and receive OOB messages.

Telkom needs to take responsibility for their bad service delivery by accepting the cancellstion of these contracts without costs. We the users sre complying to the contract but Telkom is in breach by not ptoviding the service we signed for.

No no no Telkom is taking the Piss

I have full signal with both Telkom and Vodacom at home.

Telkom has done something that is causing roaming to be prioritized, the sim will boot on roaming and if you go and change to tekom it would fail after about 5 minutes whereby it finds no telkom network for a couple of minutes and thus switches to the roaming network after which the telkom network magically reappears.

It keeps doing this constantly even with roaming turned off and Telkom set as the preferred network.

Also, the allnet data is redicioulosly expensive, they can go shove it up their arse.

What is problematic is that @Jamie McKane and @Bradley Prior also don't understand the issue so they are not asking Telkom the right questions (if they understood, they would not put "put off roaming" as a fix in their articles).

Indeed

Also you technically only turn of data roaming, you can not disable switching to a roaming network specifically unless you have rooted your phone then there are ways of doing it.

Some screenshots where you can see the frequency of it switching networks as you receive an sms, also note how there are more than 500 messages in that thread, imagine how annoying that is especially when your phone is the internet source for everything in your house.

Vodacom is lying. Just check on their Down Detector and you will see how many Telkom customers have been complaining there about no data connectivity and related issues since the switch from MTN to Vodacom.

Is Telkom not able to monitor the drop in bundle sales on the Telkom Mobile network.

Surely somebody should be reporting to the CEO that bundle purchases are dropping fast and they should act to avoid losing customers.

Clearly your tower hasn't got the vodacom worm as yet, yes telkom was great fast and reliable but suddenly went opposite since signing agreement with vodacrap, give it some time and you wil experience slow speeds and bad gateways, just give it some time,

Vodacrap probably paid somone to ignore the reports from the base station in droped data packets, why did telkom suddenly move to mtn, which they had no problems with, vodacom are the new guptas just that nobody sees it, euro zone shareholders, R18 to one euro, they need large profits to keep everyone happy and we south africans are paying R149 for 1 gig of data, that's 10 dollars for 1 gig
