Hi all

So i have a 25mb fibre line

i got the guys to run lan cables through the house so i have about 7 at the moment

What switch will work best

do i need a gigabit or a nornal 10-100 10 port switch will work fine

Gigabit switches are almost as cheap as 100M switches now so I wouldn't waste my time with 100 anymore.

You will soon regret getting 100M when you want to copy a 4K movie from one PC to another.

Gigabit switches are a dime a dozen and cheap as chips.. makes zero sense spending the same money on a 10/100 switch, than you would spend on a 10/100/1000 switch..

Dude, R 300 bucks is nothing for a gigabit switch.. that is cheap as chips.. you are paying 100 bucks extra for ten times the performance..

Personally would get a 10/100 then look for specials and buy the 1000 when you find one at a good price and keep the 10/100 for when the 1000 dies as a backup.

Buying a 100Mbps network switch feel akin to buying a VCR to me, sure it still works but that's old **** bro.
