Hi

I have give a lesson in basic networking (lLAN) for a guy who barely knows computers (not even talking about networking). I'm looking for a tutorial (presentation, pdf, etc) that explains the basic network stuff in XP (or Win 7 if XP is not available).

This should include basic stuff like:
On the bottom right of your screen is a small computer icon. If the icon has a red cross it means your network is not active.

A bit more advanced stuff, like how to change your IP. And if possible some advanced stuff like how to ping another machine. This tutorial should not be an entire book or hundred page pdf, but rather a short guideline of you to set up (and "debug") your network.

Does anyone have such a tutorial?

I was just about to suggest you download Alcatel-Lucent Scalable IP Networks Self‐Study Guide Preparing for the Network Routing Specialist I (NRS 1) Certification Exam (4A0-100) :D

Thank you guys. But I'm more looking for a 5-10 page tutorial. If you give someone a 150 page pdf, he/she is definitely not going to read it.

Yah, I should probably. Just thought that someone might already have done it and saved me the work.
