you only need tcpip protocol , ipx is old dos and novell 3 protocols and netbeui old ms wfwg protocols

its his fw that needs a local net allow setting

...but still required if you like starcraft

Its valid & yes it is the routers IP. That why I asked questions about your TCP/IP settings. On your PC's you must set obtain IP & obtain DNS.

what would be the benefits of installing Apple's bonjour service on all the PCs? Isn't it supposed to make for easier networking? or am I remembering wrong?
